HELLENISTIC GOLD PENDANT WITH ROCK CRYSTAL.
Ca. 300 BC.
A gold pendant with a tooth-shaped rock crystal set within an ornate gold cap. The rock crystal is smoothly polished, tapering to a sharp point. The gold cap, securely fitted around the upper portion, is decorated with a continuous frieze of filigree. The suspension loop attached to the top is decorated with a central beaded band flanked by twisted rope-like patterns along the edges.
