HELLENISTIC HIGH KARAT GOLD CUPID PENDANT.
Ca. 225 - 175 BC A gold pendant in the form of a standing winged Cupid shown nude, with high, pointed wings rising from the shoulders and an arched suspension loop above the head. The figure is modelled with a rounded torso and straight legs, the arms bent at the elbows and enveloped in broad folded strips of thin sheet that pass across the front of the body and around the back.
