HELLENISTIC HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH HERAKLES KNOT.
Ca. 100 BC - AD 200 A gold finger ring with a Herakles knot bezel formed from a pair of rounded wires looped and crossed, the four junctions ornamented with applied spherical studs. The hoop is made from two gold wires twisted into a tight cable. Size: D:13.3mm / US: 2 / UK: D; Weight: 4.65g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
