HELLENISTIC MARBLE HEAD OF APHRODITE Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A marble head of Aphrodite with a softly rounded face. Her hair is styled in thick, wavy locks, and drawn back into a low chignon. The smooth forehead transitions gently to the prominent brow ridge. The eyes are almond-shaped with defined upper and lower lids. The nose is straight and the lips are closed, forming a subtle bow shape. The chin is rounded and proportional. Mounted on a custom-made modern display stand. Size: 165mm x 130mm; Weight: 3.53kg Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s; previously in 1970s UK collection. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
