HELLENISTIC SOLID HIGH KARAT GOLD RING WITH HERAKLES KNOT.
Ca. 100 BC - AD 100 A gold ring with a twisted hoop formed from two strands of round-section wire, the ends drawn up to meet in a large frontal Herakles knot, with the junctions flanked on each side by rounded bosses. Size: D:13.1mm / US: 1 3/4 / UK: C 1/2; Weight: 3.2g. Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996. For similar see: F. H.
