HELLENISTIC TERRACOTTA FEMALE STATUETTE Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A terracotta statuette of a standing female figure, possibly representing Aphrodite preparing for a bath, shown partially nude with a garment slipped down around the hips, revealing the torso and buttocks. Her head is slightly inclined, with softly modelled facial features and hair arranged in a bound style. Drapery descends from the back in incised folds along the legs, and the figure stands on an integral base, now mounted on a modern black stand. Size: 300mm x 80mm; Weight: 650g Provenance: Private London collection.; previously with a London gallery; formerly acquired in France between 2000 - 2005, ex. Alan Kotlar collection, formed in Paris in the 1970s.
