HELLENISTIC TERRACOTTA STATUETTE OF ISIS LACTANS Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A mould-made terracotta statuette depicting a standing female figure enveloped in a thick himation, holding a small child to her chest. The woman is shown in a frontal pose, her body cloaked in deeply folded drapery that cascades in vertical pleats down to the feet, with the fabric gathered diagonally across the upper torso. Her head is veiled and turned slightly to her left. The infant rests on her left arm, its body emerging just below the mother's shoulder.
