Bradel binding, grey half-percaline with corners, ornate smooth spine, burgundy morocco title-piece, dated at tail, printed and illustrated covers preserved.
Second edition, identical to the first published in 1852. It is embellished with 80 lithographed and coloured hors-texte plates, some gummed; they were copied from the collections of ecclesiastical costumes by Ferrari and Capparoni. Two plates have marginal spotting. Some light foxing.
