[Henri EDGEWORTH DE FIRMONT (1745-1807) priest, last confessor of Louis XVI]. L.A.S. by the Marquis de BONNAY, 30 January 1825, and 2 prints, 1807-1814. The Marquis Charles-François de Bonnay (1750-1825) addresses the Duc de Damas, a close friend of the Dauphin. He mentions the repairs to be made to Abbé Edgeworth's tomb (in Mittau), which Professor Groschke had taken care of; to reward him, he suggests giving him the last volumes of the Voyage pittoresque de la Grèce by the Comte de Choiseul-Gouffier; an apostille a.s. from the Duc de Damas gives the Dauphin's agreement (2 p. in-4); on the 3rd page a receipt from the bookseller Blaise for the 325 F paid by the Marquis de Bonnay for the supply of the volumes. Abbé de Bouvens, Oraison funèbre de très-vénérable H. Essex Edgeworth de Firmont... (London, Impr. de R. Juigné, 1087 [sic]); in-8 of 59 p., bradel marbled paper boards. Very rare first edition, from the printing house founded by the Marquis de Juigné emigrated to London, of this oration delivered on 29 July 1807, in the French Chapel of King-street. - Plus the 1st French edition (Paris, Goujon et Nicolle, 1814); in-8, 60 p., unbound.
