Henri GUERARD (1846-1897) Expressive Heads: 1) The Vagabond with a Hat [Self-portrait] - Head of a Man Facing Forward; 2) Dishevelled Man - The Laugher. 1873. Etching. Each approx [300 x 240 mm]. Bertin not described and 33; 32 and 34. Good proofs on laid paper, trimmed to the subject and pasted on card, each bearing two subjects engraved on a single copperplate, before being cut in the middle and published in Paris à l'eau-forte in 1875 (Claudie Bertin had not come across any proofs of this 1st state). Joint: Bearded old man trimming his pen. Etching. Same dimensions and condition. Bertin not described (?). Heavy foxing in the good margins. Set of 3 p. Expert : Hélène BONAFOUS-MURAT
