Leiden [Bruxelles], Jean Sambyx [François Foppens], 1664. 2 parts in one small volume in-12, green morocco, triple gilt fillet, smooth spine decorated, lining and endpapers of jonquille paper, gilt edges (18th century binding). New edition of the Histoire des amours du grand Alcandre, uncertainly attributed to Louise-Marguerite de Lorraine, Princesse de Conti, but also to the Duc de Bellegarde and the Marquise de Mauny. The second part is entitled Recueil de quelques belles actions et paroles mémorables du roy Henri le Grand. A finely bound copy in the taste of Derome from Henri d'Orléans, Duc d'Aumale, descendant of Henri IV and "prince of bibliophiles", with his bookplate (cancelled for duplication). From the libraries of James Hartmann, with bookplate, and J. G. Raon (?), with stamp. Fine restoration to head cover.
