Henri-Maurice BERNEY (1924–2015), “Yin and Yang”, a picture-like sculpture in stainless steel and aluminium, featuring 2,789 gemstones, of which the ‘yin’ comprises 416 Californian snow quartz and the ‘yang’ 252 black obsidians from Mexico, whilst the multicoloured stones forming the frame’s border are from Brazil. The inner frame is made from 122 red apple coral beads, and the four corners are marked by spheres of colourless quartz from Brazil. The space in between is filled with very white sand from Mauritania.
