Lot no. 27
Hergé : Exceptional complete costume of a Joyeux Turluron, one of only 30 made exclusively for members of the Société Folklorique Pittoresque. Including the complete outfit, the horn, the mask and the exceptional hat with its three ostrich feathers, made by the renowned firm of Boudart-Jurczek of Binche. Feathers soiled and a few stains. A rare item. You will certainly have recognised the inspiration of Hergé and Bob De Moor, an original creation born of a skilful blend between the Gilles of Binche and the Blancs Moussis of Stavelot. The Joyeux Turlurons made their official debut at the 2nd Festival of Giants in September 1991, and for the next few years they accompanied the giant Tintin at carnivals and in folklore processions. This philanthropic society was founded in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve by Daniel Migeot, Robert Bertholet, Dany Bury and Dominique Maricq.
