Lot no. 446
Hergé: Illustration in Indian ink, blue pencil and white gouache published in the newspaper Tintin on 4 February 1953. This composition by Hergé refers to Prévert's inventory. At first glance, the combination of different graphic elements is surprising, but it really makes sense when you realise that this drawing was a visual response to questions asked in the newspaper Tintin as part of a competition. On closer inspection, the illustration is not lacking in poetry, and even makes it easy to find various elements of Hergé's work in a rather surreal mishmash. Having completed the album "On a marché sur la lune" and about to move to the Avenue Louise to set up his studios, Hergé found the time to create a highly original drawing, a friendly nod to his many readers at a time when the author was at the height of his powers. This drawing is mentioned in Hergé, Chronologie d'une œuvre, Volume 6, page 104, published by Éditions Moulinsart in 2009. The certificate of authenticity from the Hergé committee is included (slight foxing and creases). Size: 28 x 30 cm.
