Hercules Farnese as a large park sculpture. Travertine. Fully sculpted depiction of Hercules standing after his heroic deeds, leaning on a club. On a rock the skin of the Nemean lion, in his right hand the three apples of the Hesperides. Separate, rectangular travertine pedestal. Contemporary, finely executed Italian sculpture after the marble original in the National Museum in Naples, one of the most famous sculptures of antiquity. Sculpture h. approx. 183 cm; plinth h. approx. 102 cm; total h. approx. 285 cm. Large travertine sculpture of the Farnese Hercules as garden sculpture. Separate pedestal base. Contemporary Italian copy after the Roman marble sculpture.
