Hermann Baisch (1846 Dresden - 1894 Karlsruhe) Dutch river landscape with windmill A landscape impression painted in a broad, loose style that reflects influences from the Barbizon School and the Hague School. Baisch travelled to Paris in 1868, where he also met painters from the Barbizon School such as Théodore Rousseau and Jules Dupré. These open-air painters represented a new style of "Paysage intime", as did the landscape painter Adolf Lier, whose painting school Baisch attended from 1869 to 1873. In 1880, Baisch moved to Karlsruhe, where he was appointed professor at the art school in 1881, where his friend Gustav Schönleber also taught.
