A student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, French designer Hervé Van Der Straeten quickly made a name for himself with his jewellery and furniture creations, featuring clean, elegant lines that defy materials. In 1999, he opened his own gallery in the Marais district of Paris, exhibiting pieces in both wood and bronze. He has taken part in numerous international exhibitions, and some of his pieces have been included in France's national furniture collection, Le Mobilier National.
