HEUER Carrera, Automatic Chronograph, Ref. 1153, case no. 253746, sold in 1973 A fine and attractive, left-handed, water-resistant, automatic, tonneau-shaped, stainless steel chronograph wristwatch with two-tone dial, silvered with black registers, luminous hands, date, tachymeter scale, 12-hour and 30-minute registers, leather strap and stainless steel Heuer buckle. Fitted a Cal. 12, gilt finish, self-winding, 17 jewels, shock-absorbers, engraved SX, shock-absorbers, blued steel screws, screwed back engraved "E.B". Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 38.50 mm. Thickness 14.20 mm. Accompanied by a fitted box (used) and original guarantee/booklet dated September 1973. The Heuer Carrera Reference 1153 holds a significant place in horological history as one of the pioneering automatic chronographs and was introduced in 1969, by Heuer to launch the caliber 11, together with the Autavia “Siffert” and the Monaco. Developed through a collaboration between Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren, and Dubois-Dépraz, this model was part of the groundbreaking "Chronomatic" project, which aimed to create the world's first automatic chronograph movement, caliber 11. Early models were printed with the name “Chronomatic” above the signature. Earl Boen (August 8, 1941 – January 5, 2023) was an American actor and voice actor renowned for his extensive work in film, television, and video games. He is perhaps best remembered for his role as Dr. Peter Silberman, the criminal psychologist in the first three Terminator films: The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003). Notably, Boen was the only actor, besides Arnold Schwarzenegger, to appear in all three of these films, consistently portraying the same character.
