WEDDING KNIFE
England, London, 1st third of the 17th century. Dagger mark The Cutlers' Company London.
Edged and rounded agate grip, mounted with an oval grip end in agate and a partially gilded silver button finial in relief and partly pierced. Gilt indented ferrule with stylised leaf border. Blade bolster with floral and spike motifs in relief. Bolster merging into a medium-pointed blade. Smith's mark with a bunch of grapes and a dagger as well as the old inventory number 164.
L 21.5 cm.
Blade corroded and heavily cleaned. Signs of use. Grip segments slightly loose.
