KM.490 - Fr.256 - J.417 - Schl.146 ; Gold - 37 mm - 12 h Top Pop (5): this is the finest graded example from PCGS! PCGS MS65 (35489104). Characteristic strike in matt blank in the centre and mirror on the circumference containing the legends and the exergue of the reverse. The matt velvet shows only tiny bag marks. Almost corner flower. Only 10,897 examples were minted to mark the 40th anniversary of Franz Joseph's coronation in Hungary. This type is emblematic of the large Hungarian series, remarkable for its minting with the peripheries in proof minting (brilliant) framing a matt portrait of the new king and the coronation scene on the reverse.
