HOSCHEDE MONET Blanche (1865-1947) "The Seine at Croisset", oil on canvas, signed lower right, 60x73cm. Our painting, previously unseen on the market, was exhibited at the Blanche Hoschede-Monet museum in Vernon. Provenance: Sold (or given) by Blanche HOSCHEDE MONET to Madame Jean MAILLARD, cousin of Madame Geneviève COSTADAU wife of Jean Pierre HOSCHEDE; then given to her daughter Madame Georges MAUPAS, then given to her son, the present owner. The photos (attached and supplied by the family) show the engagement of Mr Jean Pierre HOSCHEDE to Mrs Geneviève COSTADAU on 18 September 1903, in the presence of Claude MONET.
