First edition illustrated with 25 colour compositions by Hans Bellmer reproduced in heliogravure, including the frontispiece and 6 full-page illustrations. Edition of 230 numbered copies, this one of 200 copies on Rives vellum, enriched with an autograph signed letter from the author: "à E. van Moerkerken, ces objets de corail et de dentelle avec l'amitié de Georges Hugnet. 1939." It has been housed in a very elegant and subtle slipcase by Julie Nadot.
