First illustrated edition, with a frontispiece and 10 engravings outside the text after D. Rouargue, Louis Boulanger, Raffet, Tony and Alfred Johannot, Camille Rogier. Volume II is complete with the figure De l'utilité des fenêtres qui donnent sur la rivière (The usefulness of windows overlooking the river), often thought to be missing. A very fine copy with elegant bindings decorated with original decoration. Minor foxing. Carteret III, p. 300.
