The two volumes collect a heterogeneous variety of pamphlets and treatises: Science and Curiosity: Astronomical Observations, Journalistic Hoaxes on Astronomy. History and politics: biographies and reflections on Napoleon Bonaparte. Prophecy and eschatology: Joachim of Fiore and Bishop Anselm of the Marsi. Education: reports on female education. Administration and law: manuals and collections of regulations of the Papal States. Religion and theology: homilies, treatises on preaching and religious texts. Literature and rhetoric: treatises on rhetoric, arithmetic refutations and literary polemics. The collection offers a unique picture of Italian culture between the 17th and 19th centuries, including works of great rarity and historical and documentary significance. The state of preservation varies from very poor to excellent depending on the individual pamphlet.
