IACOVLEFF (Alexandre) (1887-1938). Portrait of Violet Henson. 32 x 50 cm, framed under glass. An original red chalk drawing signed lower right by Alexandre Iacovleff, with an autograph signed letter from the artist "To granny" and a second small pencil drawing. Born in St Petersburg in 1887, Alexandre Iacovleff arrived in Paris in 1919 after spending two years in the Far East. The artist quickly became a fashionable portrait painter, confident of his talent and close to high society. Portrait reproduced on p. 54 Aly Ben Salem, Ashraf Azzouz, Maisons de Hammamet. Some brown spots.
