IATMUL, Wosera-Gaui, Papua New Guinea. Wood, mineral pigments, cypreae shell. Hook resembling a catfish head surmounted by a human face, the eyes made of cypreae shells. This hook was used to hang baskets or bags in which the inhabitants of the Sepik Valley stored their personal belongings. Height: 42 cm.
