Il Primo, Printed in Venetia appresso Iacomo Leonzini 1575 dedicated to the Grand Duke of Tuscany D. Francesco Medici Il Secondo, printed in Florence appresso I Giunti 1562 The Third in Venetia appresso Andrea Muschio 1566 These are several books bound in a single volume 1/8 Folio in floscia parchment with title on the spine. At the beginning of the first book there are some period notes, a beautiful typographical mark on the first page, capilettera and small heads. The book contains 563 thoughts on philosophical-political subjects, expounded in a Counter-Reformation spirit. The text was so successful that it was reprinted six times and this is the second, in a different format from the first. The second book opens with the typical Giunti typography mark, slightly coloured, and with beautiful letterheads, some of them slightly coloured. The text by Agnolo Firenzuola, a writer and abbot known for his works in prose and poetry, contains several prose works on 'I discorsi degli animali, Delle Bellezze delle Donne, i Ragionamenti Amorosi dedicati al Conte D'Aversa, l'Epistola in lode delle Donne e le Novelle Otto'. All treatises have beautiful capilettera and some small illustrations. The third book has a beautiful typographic mark on the first page and beautiful capilettera. The work is a Hellenistic novel, one of the earliest Italian translations, whose first printing, also translated by Carani, was in 1550 in Florence. Conservation status of all three books more than good, some slight stains and parchment cover with a few small abrasions.
