BALI ISLAND, Indonesia. Hardwood, old polychromy. Two ancient statues, one of which represents Hanuman, an emblematic figure in Hindu mythology. He is the monkey god, patron saint of wrestlers and god of wisdom. He is often often represented with a club. Height: 34 cm and 36 cm. Provenance: Former Professor Kropholler family collection Hamburg circa 1920.
