BALI ISLAND, Indonesia. Deer antler betel grinder handle depicting a "Barong", an evil character and protector of the kampong, dressed in a sarong and decorated with leaves. First third of the 20th century. Length: 10 cm. Provenance: Collected in situ in 1975 by Jacques Cortecero. Note: The deer antler is the part of the antler of male deer.
