NIAS ISLAND, Indonesia. Hardwood, dark reddish-brown patina. Very old "Adu Hörö" statue representing an ancestor wearing the high golden crown "takula ana'a" reserved for distinguished figures. Height: 35 cm. Width: 6 cm. Provenance: Collected in situ in 1974 by Jacques Cortecero in the village of Bawomataluo in the south of the island of Nias.
