"Kalabubu", the traditional necklace of the Nias head cutters, symbolising prestige and bravery. Each necklace consists of a bronze frame with two end pieces, onto which coconut discs of progressively increasing diameter are threaded.
Diameter: 22 cm.
Provenance: Collected in situ in 1974 by Jacques Cortecero in the village of Bawomataluo in the south of the island of Nias.
