LOMBOK ISLAND, Indonesia. Very fine "Golok" sword with steel, iron and nickel blade (damascened). This narrow, long, single-edged blade is decorated with flowers and a golden elephant. The blade fits into a silver-covered wooden scabbard with floral decoration and a black wooden spindle carved with a Makara head. Length: 68cm. Provenance: Former Professor Kropholler family collection, Hamburg, circa 1920.
