Important uncaptioned armorial of the Order of the Golden Fleece, comprising +/- 240 folio plates drawn in graphite and enhanced in watercolour and gouache on laid paper. Probably a work from the southern Netherlands. Eighteenth century (* and freckles). Size (folded plates): +/-43x26,5 cm. This armorial of the Golden Fleece, a prestigious order founded in 1430 by Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy (1396-1467), begins with his coat of arms and ends with those of the knights elected during the reign of Philip II of Spain (1527-1598).
