IMPORTANT BOULLE VITRINE CABINET Louis-Philippe style, Paris, ca. 1840/50. Attributed to Alexandre-Louis Bellangé (1797–1861). Some of the bronzes are monogrammed on the back bT. Ebony and tortoiseshell with red underlay, decorated with engraved brass inlays in the form of geometric fillets, arabesques, birds and flowers. Rectangular body on a cut-out frame, merging directly into stepped feet. Glazed, single-door front between slightly flared pilaster strips. Rich, finely chased and gilt bronze decoration in the form of leaf masks, allegorical trophies, satyr heads, rocailles, leaf and acanthus friezes, rosettes and mesh. Escutcheon with rocaille mask. 1 key. Restoration plaque on the back. 131 × 57.5 × 207 cm. In good restored condition. Minor losses to the veneer. Scratches to the glass. According to Sylvain Cordier, author of the extensive monograph on the cabinetmaker dynasty Bellangé, this vitrine cabinet is characteristic of Alexandre-Louis Bellangé's furniture production of the 1840s and 1850s. Rechteckiger Korpus auf ausgeschnittener Zarge, direkt übergehend in gestufte Eckstollenfüsse. Gestufter, leicht überkragender Kranz. Verglaste, eintürige Front zwischen leicht ausgestellten Lisenen. Reicher, fein ziselierter und vergoldeter Bronzedekor in Form von Blattmasken, allegorischen Trophäen, Satyrköpfen, Rocaillen, Blätter- und Akanthusfriesen, Rosetten sowie Maschen. Schlüsselschild mit Rocaille-Maske. 1 Schlüssel. Rückseitige Restaurierungsplakette. 131 × 57,5 × 207 cm. Guter restaurierter Zustand. Geringe Fehlstellen am Furnier. Glas mit Kratzern. Laut Sylvain Cordier, Autor der umfangreichen Monographie über die Tischlerdynastie Bellangé, sei diese Vitrine charakteristisch für Alexandre-Louis Bellangés Möbelproduktion der 1840/50er Jahren.
