*IMPORTANT CLOCK "A CASSOLETTES", Louis XVI, after the royal model attributed to J.J. LEMOYNE (Jean-Jacques Lemoyne, maitre 1772) the dial signed SOTIAU A PARIS (Nicolas Sotiau, maitre 1782), the fine enamel painting probably by J. COTEAU (Jean Coteau, Geneva 1740-1801 Paris), Paris circa 1790.
Matte and polished gilt bronze and white marble. The case with tripod base "aux béliers". The clock with finely painted enamel dial and verge escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell.
With exceptionally rich gilt bronze mounts. 55x20x65 cm.
Provenance: from a German collection.
A clock of the same model from 1785/90, the movement signed Robin à Paris, is today in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
