IMPORTANT AND OLD SIGNED MECHED CARPET (Iran, mid 20th century) Abraded ruby field (natural wool change) decorated with a very large central poly-lobed floral medallion in the form of a stylised diamond. Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion. The main border is interlaced with fine wave-shaped crenellated stems surrounded by floral buds. Wool velvet on cotton base.
