-The original design comes from the Agence Percier et Fontaine and the model was most likely proposed when the furniture for the Convention Nationale was commissioned. This model is stamped either by Jean-Baptiste Sené or Georges Jacob.
Emperor Napoleon I owned a copy that is now in the Château de la Malmaison (Inv. M.M.50.6.1).
The Château de Versailles (Inv. T453) also has one, and the mobilier national (Inv. GMT-26038-000 and GMT-3661-000) two, one by Jacob, the other by Sené (used in General de Gaulle's office at Trianon and in 1996 in Reims during the Pope's visit to France).
