Important carved and polychromed wooden coat of arms of the Lords of Egmont van der Nijenburg, flanked by two lions and surmounted by a crown. This is the younger branch of the family of William, Count of Egmont (1412-1483), Lord of IJsselstein, Schoonderwoerd and Haastrecht, Stathouder of Gelderland and Knight of the Golden Fleece. His son Gerrit Willemsz van der Nijenburg (1435-1523), born of a secret marriage with Margaretha van Hoogwoud, was the founding ancestor of this branch, which died out in 1747. Dutch work.
