Important tapestry by AUDENARDE, Flanders: Hunting with a stag, a bear attacking a unicorn and a lion. Wool and silk. Note the village foundations at the top and in perspective. An exceptional animation of hunters pursuing a stag, surrounded by dogs and framed by luxuriant vegetation. A magnificent lion appears on the right, staring at an exceptional unicorn in the foreground. Wide border with compositions of fruit, garlands of flowers and foliage surrounded by finely drawn figures. Late 16th c. - Early 17th c. 265 x 245 cm. Maintenance restorations.
