Imposing historicism hunting tankard. Silver, partially gilt. Domed round stand surrounded by bosses and cord band with a flared, moulded stand ring. Cylindrical, tall body with a mythological hunting scene of the goddess Diana and her entourage on a stag, a boar and a wolf with a pack of hounds in lavish relief against a wooded landscape. Domed hinged lid, surrounded by corresponding boss decoration and a godron band. A fully sculpted depiction of a stag leaping over an oak tree crowns a round base in the centre. Wide, canted, ear-shaped handle ending in a coat of arms cartouche. Gilt interior. Marked 13 lot, maker's mark, Austrian/Viennese import mark (1901-1921). Weight approx. 1790 g. H. 36 cm. Cf.
