Inoue Yūichi (1916-1985) The 1916 in Tokyo born Inoue Yūichi studied calligraphy under Sokyu Ueda (1899-1986). 1951 followed the first individual exhibition of his calligraphic works in his home city and shortly afterwards he became a co-founder of the Calligraphy society (Bokujin-kai). 1959 he was represented in documenta 2 in Kassel. Today he belongs to the most important modern and avantgarde calligraphy artists in Japan.
