Indochina/Vietnam, late 19th/early 20th century Pair of rectangular black lacquered wood panels carved and inlaid with mother-of-pearl, the central compartment inlaid with ladies seated on a cart, surrounded by carved compartments, the upper one with prunus branches (with a lemon or a pomegranate) and the lower one with a butterfly or a container, all the edges inlaid with mother-of-pearl decorated with scenes of battles, immortals and flowering vases in various cartouches, flower motifs in the corners. H. 99 cm - W. 38.5 cm The central panel is cracked, the decoration is slightly missing, the carved parts are chipped and the inlays are missing.
