INDUS VALLEY NAL STYLE PAINTED VESSEL WITH IBEX AND LEAVES.
Ca. 2500 - 2200 BC
A pottery vessel with a short, slightly concave neck, everted rim, and sharp shoulder above a gently tapering lower body on a flat circular base. The neck is painted with vertical stripes in red, blue, and dark pigment, framed by horizontal bands. One side of the body shows a long-bodied ibex with swept-back horns and a striped coat beneath large leaves, while the other side is arranged in panels of vertical striping flanking stacked triple wavy motifs.
