INDUS VALLEY NAL TERRACOTTA PAINTED BOWL WITH BIRDS AND LEAVES Ca. 2600 - 1800 BC.
A terracotta vessel with a flat, cylindrical body and a short, raised neck. Decorated in black and red on an orange ground, it features alternating panels enclosing stylised birds shown in profile with raised wings and striped bodies, and heart-shaped leaves sharing the same linear scheme. The panels are separated by vertical bands, and a continuous frieze of alternating zigzag and linear motifs encircles the flat shoulder.
