INDUS VALLEY PAINTED JAR WITH ZEBU BULLS Ca. 2600 - 1900 BC. A globular terracotta jar with a short, upright neck and wide mouth. The upper body is painted in dark pigment with two large zebu bulls depicted in profile, each with extensive linear patterning on the flanks. The animals are arranged symmetrically on either side of a central stylised tree, composed of curving fronds. Multiple geometric motifs, including concentric circles, zigzags, and rows of vertical lines, fill the surrounding space. A series of concentric bands encircles the lower body. For similar see: A.
