INDUS VALLEY PAINTED NAAL STYLE JAR WITH ANIMALS. Ca. 2500 - 2000 BC. A terracotta painted jar of buff fabric with a broad shoulder over a tapering lower body on a small ring foot. The decoration on the shoulder is divided into four panels by concentric roundels: a pair of confronting birds; a bird with outspread wings; an ibex; and a lion. A frieze of fish runs around the mouth, with added linear bands on the body in red and black pigment. For similar decoration see: A.
