INDUS VALLEY PAINTED TERRACOTTA JAR WITH BULLS Ca. 2500 - 1900 BC. A globular jar with a short neck and flaring rim, set on a flat base, the upper body decorated with a frieze depicting two large bulls in profile, each with curved horns, prominent humps, all outlined in black against a red slip. Between them stands a stylised tree with horizontal branches ending in circular finials. The scene is enclosed above and below by linear bands, with an added wave band encircling the base of the neck. For similar see: A.
