INDUS VALLEY PAINTED TERRACOTTA JAR WITH CAPRID MOTIFS AND BIRDS
Ca. 2400 - 2000 BC.
A terracotta jar with a rounded body, short neck, and everted rim, decorated in black and red slip with alternating figural and geometric panels. Four scenes of stylised ibexes and long-necked birds occupy alternating compartments between crosshatched lozenge motifs set within red-outlined triangular frames.
