INDUS VALLEY PAINTED TERRACOTTA VESSEL WITH LIONS Ca. 2200 - 1700 BC. A terracotta vessel with a rounded body, short neck, and flaring rim, painted in black and red slip on a buff surface. The main frieze depicts stylised lions in profile, each with an open mouth, prominent eye, and wavy mane. The figures are framed above and below by horizontal lines. For similar see: A.
