INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA BIRD IDOL
Ca. 3000 - 2500 BC.
A terracotta figurine depicting a highly abstract anthropomorphic figure with an elongated head, narrowing into a beak-like form with incised, circular eyes. The arms are bent at the elbows and held across the abdomen, with linear impressions mimicking the fingers. A single circular indentation is present on the chest. The broad torso leads to a flared base, allowing the piece to stand upright.
